"We, the undersigned, live of the Unofficial. of the Legislative Council of Hongkong, have lie honour to call your alteution to au Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council on the 5th day of allay cast intituled "The Sunday Cargo Working Ordinance " No6 of 1891; to complain of the action of His Excellency the Governor, Fir G. W. des Voeux, in introducing and passing this Ordinance through the Council, without due notice and without allowing adequate time for consideration by the members of Council or by the public, and to request that your Lordship will advise Her most Fracious allajesty to disallow the ordinance in question.
Leave it was read a first time at a meeting of Council held on the 30th April last. It appeared in the Gazelle of Saturday the 2d clay for the first and only time. It was read a second time, passed through Committee, read a third time and passed at a Meeting of Council held on the 5 clay, the standing ders being ruspended for the purpose of allowing this to be done. Of the meeting of Council held on the 54 ollay, less than 24 hours notice was
